In any case, the exploration of the tops of redwood trees proves to be a much more fascinating topic than I would have thought. I learned a lot and enjoyed every moment of it. ”

I'm lucky enough to live in Northern California and to see these beautiful giants in their natural rain forest environment. After reading "The Wild Trees," I will never look at them in the same way again. ”

I live in Northern California surrounded by the Redwoods and this book is a great story of brave adventurers that still live and work in this area and it is dramatic like a novel and it is a science book all rolled into one. If you are ever able to read this book you will not be disappointed.”

it is hard to hike now for looking up the whole time!
it gives new meaning to the cliche, "couldn't see the forest for the trees"!”
“I have lived in Northern California all my life and spent some time working in state parks in the Santa Cruz mountains, never once considering all that was going on a few hundred feet above my head! I wasn't sure what to expect - this is a book about trees after all - but, I found the subject to be very engaging and hard to step away from. I sat down and finished the last 200 pages of the book in one sitting, which is something I haven't done in a long time.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in biology, ecology, environmental issues, or even California history and geography. Also a great read if you are planning to visit the coast of Northern California or Oregon and some of the parks mentioned in the books; I promise it will give you a whole new insight into your trip to the woods!”
