• Curran Lennart: The Beast Lord, Lion shifter
• Kate Daniels: A sword wielding, magic using member of the Mercenary guild who is also working for the Order as a "liaison", and has earned Friend of the Pack status.
• Mahon: Bear shifter, father figure for Curran. The Packs' executioner.
• Andrea: Knight of the Order and Beast-kin, hyena were. Kate's best friend.
• Barabas: Mongoose shifter, son of Aunt B, lawyer, advisor to Kate.
• Aunt B: Alpha of the hyenas, and Mother to Raphael
• Derek: Wolf shifter. Curran's right hand wolf. Formally tied to Kate with a Blood oath, sworn to protector her.
• Raphael: were-hyena who is in love with Andrea
• Julie: Found by Kate during MAGIC BURNS her mom was missing, they worked to find her. Now with no one she is Kate's ward (crazy aunt Kate), and she thinks Derek walks on water!
