“The Fifth Witness was classic Michael Connelly. Not every book that follows the standard structure of a thriller (the buildup to a big reveal in the last few pages) works but this one does. (Do not read the last pages first you will cheat yourself.) It's a beautiful moment and when you reach it you will realize that Connelly has played fair with you all the way through the book. Excellent reading. ”
