• Librarium: A HUGE building where books are kept. People can only get up to Floor Forty-Two, but the firebirds that roam the librarium live higher up.

• Higher: The people that rule over Co:pern:ica. No one has seen the Higher, but they are the ones who created the Grand Design and watch over their world.
• Aunts: A group of woman who approve or disapprove peoples' applications to construct a child.
• Re:movers: Machines who look like people that are sometimes sent to remove people to the Dead Lands.

• fain: A free body living inside humans. Allows humas to create things with thoughts.
• Spin: A term used to describe the flat rotation of Co:pern:ica around its fire star; sometimes referred to as a year.
• construct: In Co:pern:ica, children are not born naturally, they are constructed. The parents commingle their Fain and create the child, and it is sometimes referred to as a construct
• de:construct: The action of taking apart a construct, be it a table, a desk, or a child.
