Tramp for the Lord (Corrie Ten Boom Library)

by Corrie Ten Boom, Jamie Buckingham

In 1940, Corrie ten Boom was living with her father and sister above their watch shop in Haarlem, Holland-and when their country was invaded, this devoutly Christian family provided sanctuary for persecuted Jews. Corrie's story of love, forgiveness, and the power of the Holy Spirit--even in the worst, most hellish of places--will change your life. I know of few people that shine like Corrie did, and continues to, through her books and recorded messages.

I would read this book at night as an inspiration to love God, love others no matter the cost. Lots of heart-engaging short true-stories from the beginning of her b(ad-venture).... to her miraculous release.... to the total giving of her will and life as she traveled around speaking wherever she was scheduled by her manager, God. Corrie would sometimes end up somewhere not even knowing where she was to stay or what she was to do! She just knew God sent her. Amazing that an older lady would be so determined and trusting to follow her heart. Just shows how very close she kept to God. What an inspiration.

Just excellent. Beautiful insights and incredible experiences from this dedicated servant of the Lord. Inspiring and convicting; puts most of us to shame, yet challenges and encourages.

One of my heroes. An amazing woman of such faith and fortitude who survived a Nazi Concentration camp where her sister died. Her story after "The Hiding Place" shows just how much God can use someone if they will fully trust and be sold out for Him, instead of their own self centred pursuits which she could have so easily chosen instead back in the comfort of her home life in Holland pre War. She never asked for money but God always provided, sending her very specifically around the world with the story of God's (and her own) forgiveness and redemption from the Nazis.

I scour used bookstores snatching up every copy of this one I can find. Miss Ten Boom's stories of forgiveness when it seems humanly impossible, can be helpful to so many who face difficulties. Anyone feeling down, will be lifted up and hugged by this book.
