The Hiding Place

by Corrie Ten Boom, Elizabeth Sherrill, John Sherrill

Corrie ten Boom was a woman admired the world over for her courage, her forgiveness, and her memorable faith. This book is beautiful. Love has never been so painfully revealed and within these pages lies a depiction of such true and tangible faith that each heart exposed to its light must weep in realization of how much shorter we have fallen of God's glory than we ever wanted to admit.I love this book because it made me love God.

My favorite book. It is very inspiring and is a good example of how God's light can shine even in the darkest of situations. A must read.

This was a very inspiring true story. It really made me think before I decided to be down about something. It really made me appreciate my freedom.

WOW!!!! This is probably one of my all time favorite books. I am intrigued by the history of WWII and amazed at how much good you can see and do when you submit your will to the Lord. To be thankful for fleas... I need to read this again and again to remind myself to view the glass as half full no matter how dire the circumstance seems.

I've read a lot of books about the Holocaust but it still amazes me that these events actually took place. I always wonder what I would have done. I don't know that I would have been as brave or as faithful as Corrie Ten Boom.
Although the beginning was a little slow, it was an excellent memoir.

Corrie ten Boom's story is heartbreaking, but more importantly it is inspiring. The hardships that she and her family - and all of the victims of the war from the Jews, to the soldiers to the Resistance fighters - are hard to imagine and brought tears to my eyes. As a follower of no particular religion, the Christian theme of The Hiding Place was not stifling or pretentious. A beautiful story about a very heroic woman.

This is one of those books that changes your life. I love to read things that make me understand something a little more clearly, or that make my perceptions of life a little closer to the truth, as well as make me want to be a better person. The Hiding Place is definitely worth taking the time to read.

Corrie Ten Boom was a watchmaker in Holland during WWII. She and her family were part of the underground and assisted the Jews from being captured. The family was eventually caught by the Germans and they all spent time in prison. Her father died 10 days after being arrested. The rest of the family was released from prison while Corrie and her sister were sent to a concentration camp in Germany.

It is a really good book. Through this book, I feel like I am getting a better insight into what it was like to live during that time, the decisions people had to make, and how they lived through everything. It is amazing to me how they keep a positive outlook on everything when they were surrounded by evil.
