This series of stories takes place in 1944, during the latter part of World War II. Molly's father is in the military and so he's not at home.

The story is basically about Molly and her friends are working to prepare Halloween costumes and they come up with a rather nice idea. They go out to trick-or-treat and end up getting candy, donuts and other items, but these are ruined when Molly's brother Ricky plays a mean trick on the girls and squirts them all with a garden...
