“A favorite childhood book which I've reread countless times. Prose is simple, honest and very touching. I fell in love with the main character and the laid-back story about how life is in 1900s Florida and the importance of friends and family...I could imagine everything that happened and even wished to be a "strawberry girl" myself. I wished they made more books like this for young adults nowadays.
Note: Not for those who like virtually no plot-line action-packed stories with chauvinistic themes or with lots of icky romance and vampire love. ”
