Arabella is a wonderfully strong heroine and her romance with Mr.Beaumaris was a lot of fun to read about. Loved the characters, loved the story! I will definitely be reading more of Miss. Heyer's works.

Gets off to a slow start, but is worth slogging through until Arabella embarks for London. Very much in the vein of Austen with a little (very, VERY tiny) hint of Wodehouse about some of the characters. While Arabella's feelings concerning Beaumaris never seem fully developed (or at least not revealed in-depth to the reader), Beaumaris himself is at his very best in the final 50 pages!

    Reread of an old favourite.
Arabellla, the oldest in a large family, sets off to London to find and marry an eligible man.
On the way there, she is led to exaggerate the extent of her fortune, which leads to her being courted by all the eligible and ineligible suitors in the city.
A young woman of a warm heart and strong convictions, she attracts someone who has been immune to all the match-makers for years, as these Regency heroes always are.
    Fun, light read.

    Enjoyable, predictable romp.

Arabella may be my favorite Heyer heroine so far and Robert Beaumaris is wonderful.

On my edition of the book, "Time" is quoted on the cover with just one word: Sparkling. And I think that word sums up "Arabella" perfectly; it really does sparkle with pure wit and life. I loved it!

Goaded into declaring herself as an heiress to Mr Beaumaris, the impostress finds herself sought out for her fortune. As Mr Beaumaris watches with interst and amusement as Arabella becomes the catch of the season, he realises Arabella has awoken a feeling in him which no other women has ever inspired before
