- Amy Cahill: A 14 year old who loves books, knows about practically everything and a habit to stutter around people she doesn't know, or likes. gets the ring
- Fiske Cahill: Dan and Amy's great uncle. Also one of Dan and Amy's guardians who takes care of them as a result of Amy and Dan's grandmother, Grace's, death.
- Nellie Gomez: The au pair of Amy and Dan, with a love for blasting her iPod up to full volume. Loves to cook.
- Grace Cahill: The eccentric Grandmother of Amy and Dan, who died in the first chapter of book one. She is constantly mentioned in the whole series. Madrigal had the ring before Amy
