“Morganville is having a very great deal of trouble, trouble which is, for a while, concealed from the leaders. Someone has set up a web site that features fights between humans and vampires. By sheer coincidence a gym has recently opened and a vampire is giving self-defense courses to humans. There's also a beautiful female vampire named Gloriana who has the ability to glamour people.
The problem begins for the group when Shane starts working out at the gym. His behavior begins to change radically and Claire and the others try to find out what is going on. Myrnin ends up becoming involved (he's become a absolutely fascinating character in his own right) . At the same time as all of this is happening Claire finds out she has been accepted to MIT but she wonders if she will be allowed to leave Morganville.
Then things get really bad and we have an exploding building, an assassination attempt against Amelie and even more action. In addition, there's a romantic sub-theme going between Michael and Eve and something they plan to do may not go over well in the town.
Yet another great book in the series. ”
