I picked out this book after reading Philippa Gregory series. Compared to her books, this non-fiction version of the tales of Henry VIII started out very dry. I always tell my son that sometimes it takes awhile, when reading a new text, to become connected with it. The secret is not giving up on it, so I stuck through it as boring as it seemed. As Anne Boleyn's tragic story emerged, it began to pick up speed. The factual details and quotes that Weir has compiled fascinated me. There was no guesswork about which parts were fact and which parts of the story line were concocted by the author. Every juicy detail of the saga is represented as researched based and kept me intrigued through the rest of the book.

Bought this book because as a teen I believed I was the reincarnation of Anne Boleyn.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Weir truly breathes life into each of the wives. She also places the Tudors within their historical context. This is a must-read for anyone interested in any of the wives, and especially the Tudor era.
