  • Nicholas Flamel: The owner of the book-shop. Found Josh and Sophie and helped to get Sophie Awakened.
  • Josh Newman: Has a gold aura and is Sophie's twin. Likes PCs better than Macs. His aura smells like oranges. Is jealous of Sophie.
  • Sophie Newman: Josh's sister, the other twin. Has a silver aura that smells like vanilla.
  • Perenelle Flamel: Sorceress, communes with ghosts, and is also Nicholas Flamel's wife. She has a white aura that doesn't smell, but feels of ice.
  • Billy The Kid: An American legend, an immortal human, aura smells like chili peppers.
  • Dr. John Dee: Evil magician, sorcerer and necromancer with a yellow aura that smells like sulfur and rotten eggs.
  • Scathach: A next generation vampire immortal warrior who can kill almost anything, she has many names but the most common is the Shadow.
  • Machiavelli: Evil Italian magician. He has a gray aura that smells of snakes.
  • Tsagaglalal: "She who Watches".
  • Marethyu: His name means death and he is the hook handed man.
  • Joan of Arc: The Joan of Arc. A female warrior and Scatty's best friend. She is married to Saint Germain
  • Aunt Agnes: Sophie and Josh's "Aunt", also known as Tsagaglalal.
  • Zephaniah: The Witch of Endor, an air elder who is very knowledgeable and passes on all of her knowledge and power to Sophie while teaching her the magic of air.
  • Mo: A street thug.
  • Palamedes: A Saracen knight.
  • Bastet: A Dark Elder, with the head of a cat
  • Abraham: The Mage who wrote the book which Nicholas and Perenelle have long guarded and protected.
  • Saint-Germain: Fire wielding immortal who is married to Joan of Arc. Stole the art of Magic from Prometheus.
  • Anubis: Brother to Aten, Son of Bastet.
  • William Shakespeare: Famous playwright, Immortal human.
  • Prometheus: An Elder who gave humans life, is also the master of fire.
  • Gilgamesh: Sumerian king, brother of Tsagaglalal. He is mad and tries to kill himself as he is an immortal.
  • Hel: An Elder who is the guardian of the non-heroes who are dead
  • Niten: A blade wielding immortal, best friends with Aoife. Has a caring heart.
  • Lotan: Seven headed water beast to be released into the city as a distraction.
  • Mars Ultor: Sent to kill Dee, aka the Warlock, married to Zephaniah.
  • Virginia Dare: An evil killer who sided with Dee and has an Eldrich flute. First child born in America. Went missing at a young age.
  • Josh and Sophies Mom and Dad: Archeologists.
