Very good book for fans of the Sherlock Holmes saga. It adds a whimsical twist to the relationships between Holmes and Watson, Holmes and Moriarty, and Holmes and his brother. It even has a special guest appearance by Sigmund Freud (??!)

The publishing community is full of Sherlock Holmes pastiche, some well meaning, but lackluster like Caleb Carr's The Italian Secretary, and some are simply awful, and some are wonderful celebrations of the character and setting as you find in the trio of works by Meyer. The Seven Percent Solution is brilliant and Nicholas Meyer, to my mind, is a creative genius whose mettle has never been truly recognized. Let's face it, the man can go from saving the STAR TREK cinematic franchise, to writing a damn fine Holmes pastiche--now you have to admit, that's darn impressive.
