“This was a fast, nice and easy read, ideal before going to bed or waste some time. Clear, not-too-technical descriptions and good to follow for those who don't have multiple degrees in forensics, anthropology or logic like me. I liked the way Reichs has the characters ask each other "So what does this mean?" followed with an explanation to sum up what the consequences/dangers/implications are. Brennan is a good tag team with her lover Ryan and they both explain to the reader what everything is all about (even though in some scenes it can be a little obnoxious). Brennan is sometimes on the verge of a Mary Sue, as in discovering something by coincidence that no one else has uncovered for a few thousand years while it was pretty obvious, but the pace and excitement of the story are good, so it 's easy to overlook. The style of writing is sometimes a little childish and hopping from one bit to another to my taste, but Reichs and her tremendous speed knows how to keep the reader glued to the pages, wanting to know what happens next. A nice read!”

This one I didn't like quite as well as the others I've read, but still worthwhile.”
“Forensic anthropologist – eighth book in series – there’s a good story in between all the excruciating details. Continues “template” style.”

Of all of the books in the series, this was the most boring. I don't know if it was all the Biblical references or heavy use of anthropological forensic jargon.”
