During recovery efforts after a terrible plane crash in the North Carolina mountains, Tempe Brennan rescues a foot from a pack of coyotes. She is always a stickler for the rules, but when she is accused, by some, of improperly handling remains, she has more than one mystery to solve. The foot doesn't seem to match any of the passangers on the plane and who could possible making waves about her professionalism. If not for the plane crash would the foot ever have been found, or anything else? Tempe is always digging till she knows the answer, even if it costs her.

This is an intersting twist on 'the right place, the right time' theory. This story seemed to flow really well, it was fast paced and Tempes humor is great with her sarcasim and way of stating the obvious that makes you want to laugh out loud or at least hoot a bit.

I think this was my favourite. The opening pages are chilling.

Despite a long and drawn out story, ping ponging back and forth between the plane crash and a lodge, Reichs wove quite a story. A tale that's been spun before she brings a new twist with the forensic & anthropological aspects. Nothing like reading a book and cross referencing your Body Book. However, the story, once resolved, takes quite some time to come to a close. As you've already figured out who and why there's no need for 3 more chapters of lecturing.

I have enjoyed all the Temperance Brennan books I've read so far. Yes, sometimes the details do seem like a bit much, but that is mainly because I want to find out what's going to happen next. The characters and plot never disappoint. In this story Temp helps in the recovery of bodies after an airline crash and accidently stumbles on a grusome crime that spans generations.

I liked Boyd too, I hope he is in more of the books.

I loved this book and read it in one sitting. As some have remarked, Reichs is what Cornwell used to be. Tempe is a good, strong character who seems very real. Hmmm does the fact that the books are copywrited to Temperance Brennan have anything to do with that?? I live in North Carolina and have visited the area she is working at in the story so that brings it even closer to home for me. My favorite thing about her books is the way she ends the chapters, literally dragging you to start the next one.

This was a very good book with lots of goo and gore. If you are into that kind of stuff than this is a book for you! I enjoyed the story plot line and was hardpressed to put it down. I am finding myself a big fan of forensic science mysteries....although I have a hard time eating and reading them at the same time...giggle! This book was particulary gruesome so watch out for all of you with a weak stomach!!! I really like the main character Tempe Brennan and am looking forward to reading more books by Kathy Reichs....she now has a new fan in me!
