This is the fourth installment in the Temperance Brannen series. It is my favorite so far. I'm not a mystery reader, but this one kept me guessing right up until the end. I loved that I couldn't figure it out until Tempe did. I'm really enjoying the Tempe character, probably more than the books themselves. She's a strong character with a witty sense of humor and I enjoy spending time in her head, thus reading this series. I'm already looking forward to the next book.

This was the first of the K Reichs books that I started reading, and it remains my favourite. Unlike male authors, she does not go on and on with the violence, and the stories have enough meat to keep the story going. They appeal to male audiences, my husband also enjoys reading her books.
