“Features multiple smutty chunks that ought to be skipped. But very funny.”

Written in 1996, it is a little out-of-date, with brief references to floppy disks and longer references to Windows 95. But overall, I was surprised how relevant most of the book still is, in view of the fast-changing world of computers.
Occasionally the humor seems a bit forced, but given the difficulty of writing an entire book of humor, I can forgive Barry for that. Most of the time it is funny.
If you have ever been frustrated with your computer - and who hasn't? - you'll laugh ruefully and your frustrations will be eased a bit by Barry's sense of humor about it.

“originally hilarious, but it didn't age well”

As an interesting side note, this book exemplifies a new trend in books. Books that become obsolete. I didn't realize this is possible but of course it is. When you write about technology and the technology becomes obsolete the writings do also. In this book Dave makes references to paying hourly fees to dial up to AOL. Fees? Hourly Fees? Dial up? This adds an extra dimension to the book by opening a window to a very specific time in the American technological landscape.”
“Dave Barry explains computers and cyberspace. Oh yeah, you'll understand EVERYTHING when you finish this book! Well, you'll laugh a lot!”
