"Hook was not his true name. To reveal who he really was would even at this date set the country in a blaze; but as those who read between the lines must already have guessed, he had been at a famous public school; and it's traditions still clung to him like garments, with which indeed they are largely concerned." etc. This is in chapter XIV and I've just read it, so the question is, what is Hook's true name?

It's always interesting to compare the Disney cartoon to the actual book. Peter Pan is a fairy tale - but it is also an old fairy tale - it's not all about fairy dust. There are many deeper meanings and hidden messages if you know where to look.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who fancies fantasy - and sometimes a slightly creepy look on childhood and, the eventuality of being alone.

After all these years of the Disney version of Peter Pan, it was enlightening to read the original. Peter's not quite as nice as Disney made him. Well worth the read.
