She is able to fly with horses and communicates with them in her mind. It is the first book of this series that I read and I enjoyed my travel to Lladrana. I too want to go there and be named Exotique de Livres and my special ability will be to read any book that I touch instantly.... This could help me defeat the Dark somehow. Anyway nice read lots of sex!don't know why -- so random sometimes. I want to read the other books in the series. After reading this book I feel a better connection with horses. Although I do not have one and hardly ever see one I would not mind riding one and try to establish a mental connection. Maybe it will even sprout wings and fly -- super connection.”

She's been forced to go home to a hard-hearted father whose always taken all she gave and gave nothing back, and now he's sold her beloved horse. So she's vulnerable to the Call from the alternate universe of Lladrana, and when she arrives, they heal her. Of course, in the new world, she has a connection with the flying horses called volarans, and is able to convince them to help in the defense of the world from the forces of evil. Robin always comes up with some great twists to make each story unique, and explores different facets of the society she's created. This one's as good as every one of her other books has been. Fabulous.”

Calli Torcher is an injured ex-rodeo rider and horse trainer who has always felt, as she has been able to see a different world at the cliffs on her fathers ranch. After realizing that she has been wrong of her father’s feelings for her all along, she goes out to the cliffs where she passes out and suddenly finds herself waking on a parallel earth. The new world is Llandrana, a medieval French-like society where magic is rampant; in fact she is completely healed when she awakens. Calli has been summoned to Llandrana to help with the volerans, a horse like animal with wings. Calli meets two other people from her world, Marian and Alexa, who were both summoned as well to help the Llandrana's in fighting the Horrors, enemies who will destroy the parallel Earth. In order to keep Calli on Llandrana she must be mated. During the mating ceremony she is drawn to Marrec, a skilled but penniless Chevalier.
Marrec is looking to make things better for himself when he is mated to Calli. Upon being mated they are given their own land. Marrec finds himself torn between his duty, his mate and his new livelihood and family. As Calli attempts to complete the task she has been summoned for, Calli and Marrec must work with one another to decide how to make a safe, happy family together.
Protector of the Flight is the third book in the Summoning series by Ms. Owen. I really enjoyed the book as it has a different storyline to it and it was a pleasure to read. I will be going out to find the first two books in the series, Guardian of Honor and Sorceress of Faith. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for something different in a paranormal romance.
