I'm a fan of fairy tales, so naturally I enjoyed this. Plus, it's a collection of fairly short fairy tales, so you can read one or two if you have a few spare minutes on the bus or whatever.

The best story is "The Light Princess".

George MacDonald is one of the great Christian writers of all time, and this collection of his "fairy tales" opens the believer to incredible depths of insight, wisdom, faith, grace, truth and love.

Reader, be warned! Your defects of character will be exposed and confronted; your Christian committment will be stretched and challenged as never before, and you will be given a new and more profound picture of Who Christ is.

Not your average Grimm or Anderson fairy tales. McDonald has a very different kind of perspective and imagination. Not sure I'd read them to a small child, but they're very creative.
