There is a lot of respect in my heart for this man. He is no nonsense and does things his way...successfully. Go Bikram. I totally think he and I would butt heads if I took one of his classes. Either that or I would end up in tears.

Bikram is a bit full of himself, but you can't argue with the facts. This is a good book for anyone who would like to know more about this style of yoga as it addresses each pose and discusses his philosophy. Easy reading.

Not a substitute for actually going to class, but if you do practice, the book has many helpful insites.

I love Bikram yoga this book helps you to understand it if you are a beginner and helps you to improve if you are not a beginner.

Some interesting thoughts. Bikram is undoubtedly a yoga master, but, like many experts, he seems to believe that his way is the only way. I have my doubts about over exertion and the whole 'hot' yoga bit. I am of the school that believes that yoga is abt listening to the body, not telling it what to do. Also, yoga is all abt deep breathing - I'm unsure about how breathing deeply in a closed, heated room that is filled with people can be as beneficial as practicing pranayama in an open room with fresh air. However, Bikram's witty and friendly style make this worth reading once, as do some of the variations that he suggests to basic asanas.
