  • Jess "Sundown" Brady: A Cowboy Dark-Hunter, orphaned at age five, by age sixteen, he'd learned to make his living as a gunslinger, train robber and card shark. Full name is William Jessup Brady.
  • Abigail Yager: Orphaned, taken in by a family of vampires and raised on one belief- Dark-Hunters are the evil who prey on both their people and mankind, and they must all be destroyed.
  • Renegade "Ren" Waya: Dark Hunter who frequently shapeshifts into a Raven.
  • Choo Co La Tah: The Guardian for the North, Choo Co La Tah keeps his powers under wraps and likes to catch people off guard- hence his English accent. He never wants to be what others assume. He’s amorphous and can assume any shape he wants. He prefers that of an old man, but he can be young if he chooses.
  • Sasha: Were-Hunter. Wolf.
  • Coyote: An ancient immortal, Coyote was once a great leader. But things change and time respects no person. Years of brutal torture destroyed the man he was and betrayal cost him the last bit of his humanity.
  • Andy: Jess' Squire
  • Nicholas "Nick" Ambrosius Gautier: Former squire to Kyrian, arch nemesis to Acheron.
  • Acheron Parthenopaeus: Ash. The very first Dark Hunter. The Dark-Hunters never know what to expect when Acheron enters a scene. He runs the full gamut from friendly to intimidating to downright scary.
  • Simi: Demon. Ash's demon.
  • Zarek: Demi-God, former Dark Hunter.
  • Artemis: Goddess of the Hunter. Creator of the Dark Hunters. Former lover of Acheron. Current lover of Nick Gautier.
  • Kurt: Abigail's adoptive brother.
  • Bart: Jesse's best friend in 1873
