“Great continuation of series. Hope it's not another 5 years between books.”Brian Richardson wrote this review Friday, June 28, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Whew - this series seemed to hit a pothole with this book. Everyone is doubting themselves and then - dying! Someone has to survive from House Stark, don't they?”humbledaisy wrote this review Wednesday, June 26, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Have to savour this one - there won't be another for a good while it seems. Martin continues his gripping, brutal and epic tale. Often I forget that these characters aren't real and Westeros and the lands across the narrow sea don't actually exist! Long Live Tyrion!!!”Maria Mead wrote this review Wednesday, June 26, 2013. “Not as fast paced as the others, but definitely equally interesting. The Epilogue was what worked for me as the hook for the next book. A lot more could have been done about Dany towards the end to build suspense, though.”Sanchita Dasgupta wrote this review Saturday, June 22, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? “Another great book! These five books never seem to take as long to read as one might think given their length. The character chapters fly by as I enjoy a story that has evolved wonderfully over time. Sure I wish certain things did not happen to certain characters, and I really wish that I did not have to wait so long for book six. That being said, I am looking very forward to see what happens next as soon as George R. R. Martin feels like blessing his fans with the next book.
P.S. My Fellow Shelfari Users: DO NOT PROVIDE SPOILERS IN YOUR COMMENTS. I did NOT like finding out what happened to one of the main characters towards the end of this book. You who wrote the spoiler in a general comment without being protected as a spoiler or flagged as with "Spoiler Alert" prefix... You know who you are... Totally not cool.”
“Another superb bit of story-telling by Mr Martin. While I sometimes wish the overall plot would move forward a bit faster, I can't fault him for his story development. Every time he moves from one plot line to another, I'm left hanging in anticipation. Now I just have to wait for him to finish the next book.”Charles Anderson wrote this review Saturday, June 15, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“Read the preview excerpt. Thinking about reading the whole thing. I've already read the previous 3,000 pages of books 2,3 and 4 - what's another thousand pages? Looks like Danaerys makes her move in this one.”Nathaniel L Forbes wrote this review Thursday, June 13, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“Aaaah. AAAAH! It cannot end like this, I want to know what will happen! I absolutely love the universe that Martin has created, and I am as wrapped up in this tale as I have ever been in a story. Years until the next book is released you say? Aaaauuugh, the agonyyyy...
Oh well, at least I can stop paranoidely avoiding spoilers for a while now. And maybe I should give the TV series a chance?”
