I loved this book. It's the only one of Steve Alten's books that was not part of the Meg series that I have really liked. This is fantastic! Something lives in the Loch - no surprise right? Well it's not what you think lives there. This is truly a page turner. The twist and turns of the...

While it's a fairly thick book, it is fast paced and yet there are parts where it sticks.

Set in none other then Loch Ness Scotland and the surrounds, the book is a page turner but easy to put down. There isn't action that captures you but when there is some action, it stays pretty interesting. If it weren't for the interspersed historical pieces (which are printed in the WORST font possible to read) you wouldn't have any idea what was going on or the "real" story behind the monster.

The ending is really great but also rather anticlimactic. While you finally hear the main character say what Nessie is, you feel let down because you may have already known it was coming.

Read it, but don't make it a must.

I loved this book. It's the only one of Steve Alten's books that was not part of the Meg series that I have really liked. This is fantastic! Something lives in the Loch - no surprise right? Well it's not what you think lives there. This is truly a page turner. The twist and turns of the story are enough to make you dizzy, but you'll be able to put the book down...right after the next chapter, or maybe the next.

My favorite Steve Alten book aside from Hell's Aquarim. This story has it all: romance, horror, suspense, action, science fiction, historical information, supernatural, and legal drama!!

Not to mention that has one of the biggest overcoming of personal doubt and guilt like nothing I have ever read or seen in a movie or TV show.

I was cheering, gasping, and OMG-ing the whole time! Whether you believe in the Loch Ness Monster or not, you will LOVE this book.

    Steve Alten is the master!

Interesting take on the mystery of the Loch Ness Monster. A bit weird near the end, though.

A real page turner! Couldn't put it down. And highly plausible as well!

I really love to read historical fiction (especially about Scotland) and this was a fun twist….historical science fiction thriller. It was very entertaining and easy to read. I enjoyed the story and I like the mystery of Nessie.

So far Zachary Wallace's father Angus Wallace is on trail for murder but Angus testifies not guilty. He beleives the Loch Ness Monster ate him. Zachary I belive will go on a hunt for the monster in order to prove his father innocent and to earn back his carer after accidentally killing/not rescuing other members of a team. This is like in MEG where Jonas Taylor dived to find a megolodon to reserect his marine biologist and his submarine carer.
