• Lionblaze: A ThunderClan warrior, part of the prophecy. He is amazingly skilled in battle, and leaves every battle without a scratch. He is Dovepaw's mentor. main character
• Jayfeather: ThunderClan's blind medicine cat, and part of the prophecy. He can see into other cats' dreams as well as into the past, present, and future. In his dreams he isn't blind. main characters
• Dovepaw: A young ThunderClan apprentice, mentored by Lionblaze, and part of the prophecy. She can sense things perfectly much farther than any cat should be able to, and has fallen in love with Tigerheart, a ShadowClan warrior.main character
• Ivypaw: A ThunderClan apprentice, mentored by Cinderheart. She is being trained by the Dark Forest.
• Flametail: ShadowClan medicine cat apprentice.
• Tigerheart: ShadowClan warrior. Is being trained in the Dark FOrest, and has fallen in love with Dovepaw
• Cinderheart: ThunderClan warrior; mentor to Ivypaw; likes Lionblaze; spirit of Cinderpelt, the former ThunderClan medicen cat who was killed in a badger attack.

• Littlecloud: ShadowClan's aging medicine cat
• Dawnpelt: ShadowClan warrior; sister to Flametail and Tigerheart
• Firestar: Leader of Thunderclan.
• Tigerstar: Former member of ThunderClan and leader of ShadowClan, he died a tragic death at the claws of his so called 'allies'. He now roames the dark forest, seeking revenge on 'that kittypet Firestar!' He uses living cats from the Clans for his dirty work. He plans to get his revenge.
• Leopardstar: Deceased leader of RiverClan.
• Mistystar: New leader of Riverclan used to be Mistyfoot.
• Mapleshade: A she cat who lives in da dark forest and can go and eat cheese puffs. Because she sucks.
