Ralph S Mouse is written by Beverly Cleary. It’s about a mouse named Ralph that lives in a hotel that likes to ride his motorcycle when all the guests are gone.

Ralph decides to go to school with Ryan. He’s soon found out and the kids and the teacher are thrilled with having a pet mouse in their class. So much so that they decide to build a maze to test his intelligence. At night Ralph explores the school. There’s a girl in the class named Melissa and he sleeps in her boot. Ralph is worried about the maze and will he be smart enough to do it. He tries to refuse but Ryan tells him that he is going to keep his motorcycle hostage if he doesn’t run the maze.

So the day of the maze, the reporters come to cover the story in the local paper. The kids write all these mean and insulting poems about him. Really they aren’t much better than what the paper say about him afterwards. By the time it’s time for Ralph to run the maze he gets so confused with the smells that he just hops over the top of the maze and runs to the end.

The kids want him to do the maze over. But Ralph makes them all agree that he was smart to think of another way around the maze. The papers do a slander story that the school is infested with mice. But I think something very simple clears up the fact that they say there will be investigations. Forgot what. The kids write letters of complaints to the paper and the story is retracted.

Epilogue:
Brad's father meet Ryan's mother in Mountain View Inn. Six months later, they married and both, Ryan and Brad became brothers. Brad was happy to have a mother and Ryan was glad to have a father.
