This is the diary of Stefan Salvatore when he is alive in the times of the Civil War in America. He is the son of Giuseppe Salvatore, a great land owner in the town of Mystic Falls. Stefan lives with his brother Damon ( deserter, ladies man, and gambler), and Father. Stefan is a nice young lad, destined to marry a young girl and live happily ever after, but there is one problem. The girl the Salvatore's took in, Katherine Pierce, is the one that keeps Stefan's eyes off his fiance. He is about to marry his fiance when she dies from a bite to the neck, caused by some wild animal or so they think. Stefan and his brother are clueless about what killed Stefan's fiance. They have only eyes for Katherine, their house guest. As Stefan steps forward to court Katherine, so does Damon. Katherine does want to choose. Mean while, the father of Stefan and Damon has met with the founders of Mystic Falls, when they discover the reason for the murders that happen in Mystic Falls. They think it is vampires. They are right. Only nights later, the father and a bunch of the founders round up all the suspected vampires, including Katherine! Damon and Stefan already know that Katherine is a vampire, and as they go to rescue her, they get shot. As the two boys die from the bullets, they suspect that Katherine was taken with the rest of the suspected vampires and were burned to a crisp in the town church.Which was true that Katherine died . The Salvatore brothers wake up, uncertain of why they are alive. With the help of Emily, Katherine's nurse maid and power witch, she shows them what to do as a vampire. They are given the two rings that help them walk in the sunlight. The brothers talk, and during the night, Stefan sneaks to the Salvatore estate, and sees his father. When his father sees him, he tries to stab Stefan, but he stabs himself! Stefan tries to help, but instead, he realizes that it is crucial to drink blood to become a vampire. After Stefan feeds, he bring a girl back with him so that Damon can feed and live as a vampire. But after the transformations are complete for both brothers Stefan and Damon, Damon vows to Stefan that he will haunt and taunt him forever for the death of Katherine.

  • Vampire: A mythical being that feeds off the blood of humans to survive. First appeared in Count Dracula, the vampire has fangs to bite into the flesh, and usually has powers, such as super strength, or super hearing and etc.
  • Vervain: A potent herb, and also a vampire's most common weakness
  • Doupleganger: Someone who has vampire and werewolf blood in them they are a great sacrifice and can make hybrids unless turned into a vampire then they are useless
