Flight is an interesting book that some people can relate to what is happening in their lives. or from past experiences. I would recommend this book to people who like to laugh and for teenagers

In Sherman Alexie's coming-of-age novel, he infuses the struggles of a biracial Native American teen with the teen's time travel experiences through Native American history.
"Zits" has been in over 20 foster homes and has had countless run-ins with the law. Immediately before he commits mass murder, he is "transported" to another place/location/TIME. Zits travels five different times and learns various lessons about the power of betrayal, justice, revenge, love, and respect. The main character of Zits is genuine and realistic. A reader doesn't necessarily have to like Zits in order to feel empathy for him.
A reader will learn a different perspective concerning Native American history while laughing at Zit's thoughts/Alexie's witty writing.

I strongly recommend this book to readers who are in high school as well as adult readers. If this book were a movie, some of the content would warrant an "R" rating; however, the language and violence produces self-reflection on a readers' personal views.

Wow, I really enjoyed the voice of this book. It was a bit of a strange journey but I really found meaning at the end. Really liked it. Easy read, too.

I find a central theme for me was 'revenge is always destructive', and I think the pilot sequence is a view into both his emotional state and the bomber (I don't remember his friend's name). The bomber seems an example of a third person 'getting revenge' and the destruction is causes both at the time and down the line (i.e. the pilot).

    Just my 2 cents :)

Does the section where Zits enters the body of Jimmy the pilot not quite make sense to anybody else? The other "possessions" I can justify one way or another. I know Zits says it makes sense, but that seems to me to be the author saying, "Don't worry about it." I think the section is great in terms of where it takes Zits emotionally and I find the reference to 9/11 works for me, but I can't quite figure out why this guy.
