Kaui Hart Hemmings is a really refreshing new voice-- this is a tragic-comic look at a family in turmoil, with really spunky main characters.

Didn’t Like It

My good friend Kiara sent me this book (Check out her book, Up High in the Trees) and I really loved the first sentence, and it did clip right along, but ultimately it left me kind of cold. I wanted to say it was because I'm not into rich people whining, but I think it was more than that. I felt a bit manipulated and I didn't really buy the daughters. Also, there's a section towards the middle where the narrator goes to visit many of his friends and family to deliver some important news...
