The first book in the series was a surprisingly good read and I'm all the more glad for deciding to risk it. Sure, I knew it was already popular since the author had already written a number of books in the series hence it must have been making money but that was no guarantee that I'd like it.

I love the refreshing honesty and simplicity of Precious Ramotswe. It is a deceptively plain story with the allure of the 'old' ways - respect, culture and dignity of the Botswanians. Excellent!

I loved this little book and its neat mysteries. I bought the first four books in the series and I will be moving on to the next one in about a month.

I love the main character, Mma Ramotswe! It's great fun to follow how her mind works as the stories and the mysteries unfold. The book has appealing humor, and poignant situations. It feels realistic, and I was really rooting for this lady detective and her clients!
