Wonderful book! Simple, easy, and very informative. Whether you are single or in a relationship (married or not), it's worth a read. Especially helpful is the section with 250+ questions that are worth pondering upon and exploring regardless of what your relationship status is.

Although it contains some quizzes with a few good questions that couples may not have considered, most of this book is a wasted effort. Dr. Robin writes like a presumptuous graduate student at a third-tier institution, so woe to her if this was ghostwritten! Her anecdotes from clients are not...

The list of questions that should/could be discussed prior to marriage, I think make the book worth the price of admission. Helps one to remember that just "showing up as an adult" is the important part of any commitment, but that commitment to finding out how your prospective partner feels about things BEFORE the wedding is essential to a great marriage. Think as much about the marriage as you do about the wedding is the general idea of this book.

Although it contains some quizzes with a few good questions that couples may not have considered, most of this book is a wasted effort. Dr. Robin writes like a presumptuous graduate student at a third-tier institution, so woe to her if this was ghostwritten! Her anecdotes from clients are not compelling or believable. Her purported advice to these clients is trite and full of self-evident cliches. Dr. Robin would be nobody with her Oprah-induced fame, and this book makes it clear that she has very little to offer in terms of unique ideas or original thought.

This book gives great insight into questions that couples should ask one another before they say "I do." Many of the questions, I am sure, couples don't even think about (Is it important to give to charity?, How & where do you plan on spending holidays? Will you help pay off any of your significant others debt?). Couples should read this book and answer the questions together. This is an excellent way to find out if the person you are with really is the one you want to marry.

I bought this because the quizzes at the back of the book came highly recommended. It was good for that purpose. The rest was just so-so.

After being divorced and reading this, I thought Dr. Robin was right on! I think it is a must read book for those looking for the "right" one!
