What Images Are You Creating in Your Mind?

Over the years, I've read many things authored by Wayne Dyer, in other people's books. And I first heard of him while listening the the Power Talk Tapes, in the 80's, by Tony Robbins.

"You'll See It When You Believe It," is a great book, where readers really get to know what led Wayne Dyer to go from an extremely bitter, enraged, hard-to-be-around person, to someone who others want to beat a path to. He's at peace with his spiritual-self.

I can just imagine being in a conversation with him, at a retail place, where he quietly balances being spiritual and worthy of respect. That alone would add value to your day.

And, this book, will add value to your entire life.

There are many books on the market about the power of thought, visualization and manifestation. Because Wayne's Dyer's voice, and life comes through this book, "You'll See It When You Believe It," is amongst the best.

    A Must Read for everyone

This book is an inspiratiaon to me. It has helped me tremendously in changing myself and my life in a most positive way. I am bringing myself out of major depression with the aid of this book and other sources. I will also be sharing it with my teenage children and spouse. Thank you Wayne Dyer, the author, and to the friend who recommended it to me.

    Dyer Delves Deeper

You're probably familiar with the name Wayne W. Dyer because of his many best-selling books and his numerous lectures and appearances on radio and TV. This book builds on his earlier work, and takes it to another level - at once deeper and more personal. In the seven chapters of You'll See It When You Believe It, we are taken on a journey of self-awareness, and are offered the opportunity to rediscover the power of belief and of transformation. "Transformation," he says, "is the ability and willingness to live beyond your form." Breaking out of old forms and discovering new life is the theme of this inspiring and challenging book.

Drawing on his years of experience as a practicing psychologist, as well as his openness to exploring himself and sharing that with us, Wayne Dyer offers an expansive and wide ranging look at the transformative power of belief. He describes the ways that our beliefs shape our perceptions and experience of life AND shape the ways that our lives actually unfold.

As Henry David Thoreau said, "If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."

Taking this idea as a jumping off place, Wayne Dyer presents us each with an excellent guide to finding our best lives!

    Spiritual Transformation

"I see my mission as helping others to shift their consciousness, so that all of their waking thoughts and actions are in the directions of order and harmony." ~ pg. 26

Unlike "The Secret" which seems to imply that you can get rich by simply thinking about it, Wayne Dyer is more practical in his approach. He says: "In order to make a visualization a reality in the world of form, you must be willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen." It seems that this works in his life to the extreme. He is either especially lucky or his thoughts have taken him to a place in his life where he lives abundantly.

"You'll See It When You Believe It" begins by explaining his own miraculous transformation. Wayne Dyer then explains how you too can undergo a personal transformation. For most of the book he focuses on forgiveness, detachment, synchronicity and abundance.

He has a few strange ideas like how God is a dreamer and we are the dream. He also believes in a "dream body" that we somehow take on while we are asleep. Apart from these few strange beliefs the rest of his book seems fairly harmless and mostly helpful.

There is a chapter where he spends an inordinate amount of time convincing the reader that we are "All One." I will say that his explanation of the idea is far better than I have read elsewhere. This idea could stop wars if enough people believed in it.

Wayne Dyer draws on wisdom from many cultures and religions to make his point. His ideas about detachment seem to be especially helpful as they would make you a more peaceful content person. While Wayne Dyer mentions meditation he doesn't give any instructions, for more information you may want to consider buying Getting in the Gap: Making Conscious Contact with God Through Meditation (Book with CD) which I found to be very helpful. I also enjoyed reading and reviewing: Wisdom of the Ages: 60 Days to Enlightenment.
