“I loved it. Normally Paranormal Romance isn't my thing but I really liked this book. I recommoend this book this book to any adult that found that Twilight left them wanting. “First, I would like to thank Tate Jackson for this book for an honest review. First I am going to get what I didn't care for out of the way. This book had way to many spelling and grammar errors, it is major need of editing. That being said, I love the story and characters. I would have liked to have known a little more about Beck and Bev's grandmother. I like that Bev was a strong big sister for Beck when she was growing up with parents that mistreated her because she was different. I really enjoyed that the vampyres and hunters were able to become a family. The time travel was interesting especially when you get that Beck was going back to observe Jack the Ripper. I liked Richard, although I fealt her ran off in anger way to much. Potter is one of my favorite characters and he made me laugh a few times. I wasn't expecting an open ended to be continued at the end of the book, but that is ok, since I am getting ready to read book 2. I would have given the book a five if it hadn't had the grammar errors and spelling mistakes. ”Dalene wrote this review Wednesday, May 22, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? “I loved this book! To me, at least, it's better than Twilight. Twilight was good, but I'm not a teenager and I perfer to read things that are geared more for adults. I loved the main charaters in this book: Richard, Beck, Leso, Potter and Bev. Potter is my favorite character, even though he's not the main character. one of the reason's i love this book it that most vampire book that are written for adults tend to be erotica books. Just because i don't want to read Young adult books, doesn't mean I wast to read PORN! I want a paranormal Romance book that has a great story that i can get lost in, without there being a off the chain sex scene on every other page. Tate Jackson delievered! Not only is it a great book , but the characters give you a real sense of family! It has drama and humor; lots of humor. It made me laugh so hard. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants Parananormal Romance, without the porn!”Melissa wrote this review Friday, May 25, 2012. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“The beginning of a series, The Undead Heart by Tate Jackson has enough to fill several episodes or books all rolled into one. What if vampyres weren’t exactly as we imagine them? Okay, that one’s been done before, but what if there’s time-travel too, the bogeyman, Jack the Ripper perhaps, abusive parents and a child born with a curious affinity for electricity…
The Undead Heart has an intriguing plot and includes a lot of very careful and detailed description, from characters’ heights and hair coloring to history and the details of how to travel in time without leaving your clothes behind. As parallel selves take center stage some interesting questions arise about inherent identity and the way events define us. There’s a very rough justice exercised in this story that sometimes made me squirm, but it’s balanced with some intriguing questions of morality and the rights of one person (or vampyre) to make choices for another.
With lots of characters, all with their own backstories, and many different perils to be overcome, it’s not surprising to find this is a pretty long book. Descriptions and detailed conversations do tend to slow the reading, but there’s much to assimilate with so many different ideas in a single tale, so perhaps it’s best to read slowly. The plotlines come together in a suitably violent ending, but the story’s ends up less complete than its backstories, and there’s clearly more to come.

“It's not that I don't like the premise of the book, because I do. It's a really good story line, but the grammatical errors were too distracting, and by the time I was half-way through the book, I was damn near ready to throw it at the wall. Perhaps if the author was to employ a better editor, there would be less issues with verb tense and knowing the difference between "it's" and "its."
With all that said, I really do like the concept, but some of the inconsistencies in the story line, make it difficult to read at times. With a little more practice, and perhaps a more experienced and meticulous editor, this could be a great book. ”
“I gave this book 3 stars. But after thinking about it for a few weeks..the story stuck with me. So I've changed my 3 stars to 4. My rating reasons still stand though. I did like the characters and the story line although it sometimes felt like it was more than one book. My only real complaint about it was the editing. At the first of the book there were way too many he said/she saids, there were also a few grammer errors. By the middle of the book it was a little better with that part. I can't say I loved it but I did like it. Before it ended it had actually really grabbed my interest. I will read the next book in this series. ”Laura wrote this review Wednesday, May 25, 2011. “I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next one.
The characters are strong yet sensitive and are easy to like.
The book was long, but like little stories within the whole story. You knew there was something bigger brewing, but you wanted to know what was going on here first.
The sex scenes are not racy at all.
I thought it ended abruptly. I would have liked to know a little more before the next story. I always find it hard when authors do that because it is usually a while before the next book comes out and I forget some of the nuances of the book.
I find it interesting that so many of the main characters end up mated before the end of the book. Most books leave many unmated so you can continue on with the story from another perspective. It seems where this left off, it will have to pick up with the same characters, and catch you up with what happens after the finale. That's ok with me, I can deal with more Beck and Richard.
I would recommend. ”
“This is not the usual vampire romance story. There is time traveling, a human girl with ghost seeing ablities, she can sense emotions, cause electrical currents. THe love story between Beck and Richard is amazing. I can't wait for the next book. I need it now.”Sabrina F wrote this review Monday, March 14, 2011. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful?
