Basically, boy has curse on him, which means that he turns into an adult by daylight and back to a little boy when the lights go out. He is trying to get back to his homeworld and gets the main character, a high schooler, to help him. She's confused about her feelings for him.
It was a bit like a Padme / Anakin relationship, if you want me to put it in less eeky mental image terms. :)
Um. The mangaka was very careful about 'situations' and made a point at the end of the series to show the characters waiting until the boy grew up before he and she 'married' officially. ”

“I finished this whole series and really enjoyed it. It was kinda weird in the beginning but once I got used to the characters it was hard for me not to fall in love with them. I had to finish to know if what I wanted to happen, did happen.”
