- Narrator: She wants to show the new girl around and learn more about her. She reads about iguanas in a book. She doesn't get the nerve to talk to her until they are sitting on a bench because they were both excluded from soccer. She is curious and friendly.
- D.J.: He isn't very friendly. He won't let Shakeeta play soccer and he calls her a mean name.
