This is a good book to read if you are looking for a funny, easy book. Cameron is a senior about to graduate from a conservative all boys high school. Cameron is hiding a secret that nobody, except two people know, he is gay. His best friend, Shane, is his secret boyfriend, and the only other person who knows is Shane's ex-girlfriend. He knew that coming out as being gay would be a shock to everyone and many of his friends would stop hanging out with him if they found out. As prom approaches the boys do not know what to do, they want to go together as a couple but they can't. Shane finally comes up with the plan that he'd take his ex-girlfriend who knows about them, and he'd set Cameron up with someone he knew. The girl Shane sets Cameron up with ends up coming to prom drunk, and somehow, while asking Cameron a million questions (none of which make much sense because she is so drunk) she realizes that he is gay. While he denies the fact, she knows it is true. This is only the start of Cameron's crazy prom night. The book has a very weird and crazy plot, but overall it was a really fun book to read.

I really enjoyed this book and even though originally it wasn't the type of book that I was looking for; I soon was very glad that it was the book that I checked out. It's a funny book to read and a great way to cheer someone up if it's needed.

I loved this book. I felt bad when when cam had to go with a drunk for his prom all because his Shane wanted to be a major jerk but it all worked out in his favor when that hot cop came to his rescue.

Even though i didn't purposely pick out this book all and all i thought it was very well written. I think the plot of the book where there is two men who are gay but cant express their actual emotions because of what people might think makes a great realistic outline. Shane the main character came up with a plan for their prom night, since no one else, besides Jane, Shane's best friend, knew they were gay. Shane and Cameron secretly go to the prom together. This book shows the true emotions of what teenagers who are gay actually feel. i thought that the dialogue of this book and the humor is extremely realistic. i really enjoyed this book as a whole and i recommend it.

this book is about two guys that are in high school, leaving a normal life. They had a typical teenage life. I think its a very humorous in a way. It talks about drinking, doing illegal drugs, eluding police and attending clubs at underage. Im not saying that is a good idea to do this since im a teenager, but the message that it gives too parents can be a very good one. Cameron whos the principal character not only was doing all this bad things, he was also hiding a big secret. He was gay and his boyfriend are still hiding in the closet. Nobody knew this but Cameron's girlfriend who found out the day before Prom Night. She was very smart and knew that his behavior was not normal. Over the course of the story, he gets involved in so many problems. He runs away with a Russian drug dealer, enters a gay strip contest, flees from police in a high-speed chase, and befriends a handsome cop. As Cameron notes, "the arc of my prom night was headed toward the toilet with touchdown likely in the jailhouse crapper."

Cameron didn't want his prom to be this way. He just wanted to go with Shane, his boyfriend, and be able to dance with him and whatever else people do on their prom nights.

But Shane came up with a plan for their prom night, since no one else, besides Jane, Shane's best friend, knew they were gay. They would go with dates, but stick together. Shane goes with Jane, and Cameron goes with Jane's friend, Virginia.

Cameron didn't know that his prom night would lead to breaking up with his boyfriend, burning his "dates" hair, and being chased by the police, just to name a few...

A Really Nice Prom Mess was a really good book. Brian Sloan made parts really funny, so you were sitting and laughing your head off, and others serious. You feel like you are right there, sitting and watching the action happen. If you like reading books about the prom, I would definitely recommend this book. It's not the normal they went to prom, they danced, they went to the after-party kind of book. Far from it, actually. It's very unique, which I like.
