The River is a book about a boy named Brian Robinson standing along in the woods, because his plane crashed, and everyone was gone except for him. I would file this book as a survivor book.
Brian Robinson is the main character of this book. It starts off when Brian was going to his dads and all that he had on him was the hatchet which his mother gave him for a gift.
This book is mainly about a boy going to his dads and a plain crashing and he is the only one island. And also only having the hatchet to survive.
Brian was in the woods alone for two weeks, and having the gift his mother gave him; he survived. He got food with it, made fires with it, and also used it as protection.
Close to the end of the book, Brian got home and spent time with his mom. While there three guys came and knocked on the door and started talking to him. They wanted him to take them into the woods and teach them how to survive if you need to in the woods.
One thing about the river that I like is it is based on a true story and it is very easy to compare things that you have done in life; like camping.
Another thing that I like about this book is that Brian is a very brave boy and he is not scared to be in the woods by himself.
One thing that I don’t like about this book is that in the end when he goes back in the woods he doesn’t have a hatchet and he could die because he wouldn’t be able to make a fire or protect himself.
I would give this book 4 stars.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read survival books.
