This book had lots of survival tricks that a U.S. Air Force Pilot does while behind enemy lines

It's a pretty good action book. I've never read any of L'amour's books before, but I may actually read a few more now. There were a lot of subplots going on that keep what could have been a boring story interesting. The end leaves you wanting more.

I think I read this book as far back as 20 years ago and it was so compelling that I never forgot it. I read it again this year (09). The story of a downed American pilot who happens to be a native American who is close to his historic roots. How his instincts and skill in the wilderness lead him on a challenging solo journey to escape Siberia.

OK, so Louis L'Amour is neither Poe nor Dickens. But he can tell some FUN stories. Of course, he's famous for Westerns. But this one (and Walking Drum, but that's another story...hahaha) is unique in it's setting.
