I liked that loose ends were tied up but the circumstances are a little too nicely tied up. It was confusing to try and understand the true nature of Alisa and her daughter and their real purpose in the grand scheme of the story. I did enjoy it and will continue with the series.”

Alisa learns the lesson of a lifetime as she battles against time and her daughter in order to protect Paula's baby. Enlisting the help of Seymour, Dr. Seter and his son along with their belief group to help her destroy her evil daughter. But not everybody is who they say and when the truth comes out it maybe to late. ”

Yes | No“The Last Vampire 5 - Evil Thirst opens with an overview, a sort of "previously" note which would help readers carry on with the story without having to re-read the previous books. But since I've written the past 4, I will proceed with the story.
Sita (or Alisa) knew that she had to destroy Kalika but she has a lot of doubts and questions, mostly about her faith and about her life - if you call vampire living a life. She wonders why Kalika said that knowing will cost her, who is Paula's child as it gave Seymour his life back and "how" exactly can she kill the incarnate of evil - of she who destroys.
The story progresses to Sita's discovery of a new age group dedicated to the prophecies of Suzama. The group claims to have in their possession an ancient Egyptian scripture containing details of Christ's rebirth (which was exactly the day Paula's child was born). Sita knew Suzama and even remember her as her teacher, she was aware that Suzama was clairvoyant but she was not aware of the scripture. This, she thinks will be the answer to her questions.

“The Last Vampire #5: Evil Thirst, by Christopher Pike
Back to her vampire self, in "Evil Thirst" Sita faces a difficult decision. She either has to destroy her daughter, Kalika, or give up a precious child, John, who may be the savior of the human race.
Kalika's actions in the previous novel, "Phantom," cast her as the avatar of an evil goddess, but as Sita ponders her daughter's behavior, she wonders if she can redeem her. Or is she wrong, and Kalika is right? It's a difficult situation for her, a vampire who believes in love and redemption. Can a mother's love overcome a child's evil?
Pike experiments further with New Age ideas as he transposes Sita's past in ancient Egypt with the oracle Suzama against her modern conundrum. The baby John, born to her friend after a mystery conception, is rumored to be the reincarnation of Krishna and Jesus, by a scripture written by Suzama. This may sound a bit out there, but Pike weaves a skillful and fast paced tale with all these varied pieces falling neatly into place.
I think it is best to read the last three books of The Last Vampire series in a row, and not look at them as separate books, to get the full effect.
4/5. ”
