A reinterpretation of the tale of the Twelve Dancing Princesses that takes place in Harlem - instead of twelve daughters of a king, there are twelve sons of a preacher. The sons go dancing each night at a place called the Big Band Ballroom, and wear out countless pairs of sneakers. The tale is narrated by the dog.
