Characters/People edit see section history

  • Vincent Black: Vincent is a man with a history. After being exposed to a deadly dose of radiation, he was revived by EMTs, but was afflicted with cancer throughout his body. After his “rebirth”, he operated as a vigilante in the Los Angeles area and was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of rapists, murderers, and other such individuals, staying alive through sheer force of will when his ravaged body should have failed. One year prior to the Flash Storm he was kidnapped by an off-the-books U.S. government black ops group called Project Scorpion and run through a top secret super soldier program. After escaping, he went into exile. He returned to a world turned upside down and civilization in chaos. His distinguishing mark is a tattoo of a scorpion surrounding his right eye and a tattoo of the number "7" on his eyelid.
  • Alexis "Lexi" Hera: Lexi is the daughter of a military man. As a young girl, she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and was given only a short time to live. Her father elected to enroll her in a new procedure that cured her but caused minor brain damage which removed her ability to feel or recognize fear. She has an uncanny knack with firearms and has mastered advanced motorcycle riding skills.
  • Chris Talbot: Talbot was an ordinary contractor prior to the Flash Storm. Estranged from his blood relatives, he has a habit of “adopting” new family members. He is well versed with his hands being a skilled carpenter as well as a mechanic. He is highly protective of those he takes under his wing and can be quite gruff, although it is out of caring.
  • Josh Tyler: Josh is a former computer hacker, well known in such circles. What is less known is his consulting contracts with the United States Department of Defense. He can be high strung and has a habit of twitching his right leg when he gets stressed (which is quite often). Quick with the sarcasm, especially when nervous, he has little combat experience outside of running from the Seekers. He was also “adopted” by Talbot.
  • Andromeda Paige: Andromeda is a young woman of few words. She is smarter than people give her credit for, especially since she is highly introverted. She does not brag or advertise her skills or anything else about herself for that matter. She is a talented artist, far beyond her age. Named after the Andromeda galaxy due to her father’s career as an astronomer, she has always had a fascination with outer space. Orphaned from the Flash Storm, she was “adopted” by Talbot.
  • Zodiac: The dictator who orchestrated the Flash Storm and the rise of the Grand Army, Zodiac has remained an enigma. No one knows anything about him, even what he looks like. It is rumored that he might be telepathic but evidence of this has yet to be obtained. He is always seen with a heavy duty set of military grade armor and a helmet in the shape of a dragon’s head with the mouth open. Inside the mouth is a blank face plate that hides his face. He has an unusual interest in Vincent Black, but no one quite knows why. He describes himself as “hatred incarnate” and is ruthless in his pursuit of ultimate world dominance.
  • General Callous: General Callous is Zodiac’s right hand and is thought by many to be an extension of his will. Currently, the only General of the Grand Army, it is thought that the title is merely to show his importance more than actual military rank. His undying loyalty to the savage dictator has earned him a level of trust that no one has ever attained. He carries out his directives without question.
  • Commander Jade: Commander Jade is thought by many in the Grand Army to be in line to take over as General should something happen to Callous. If anyone has come as close to earning the level of Zodiac’s trust as Callous, it’s her. Her actions are usually emotionally charged with a burning hatred that is rivaled by few and challenged by none.
  • Commander Triton: Commander Triton’s brutality is virtually unrivaled, even amongst the other commanders of the Grand Army. He shows similar aptitude as Jade, except his actions are not emotionally charged. In reality, it is believed that he is a sociopath, with no ability to feel human emotions other than the enjoyment he gets from hurting or killing. Despite his apparent loyalty, Zodiac keeps a careful eye on him as he takes far too much pleasure in what he does.
  • Seekers: The foot soldiers of the Grand Army, the Seekers are truly a frightening site to behold. Clad in a military grade mesh armor that renders them virtually bulletproof, they typically operate at night when their shoulder lights create a light and dark contrast that makes it difficult for others to see them. They wear helmets with blank face plates and radiate an aura that instills an intense fear in those who come anywhere near them. In the days that followed the Flash Storm, it was the Seekers who were used to wage genocide on humanity.

Here is the basic premise. There is some harsh language and a substantial amount of violence. There is no sex. If this book was a movie it would be rated "R". If your son or daughter can handle an "R" rated movie, they will probably be fine with this. Anyone sensitive to violence should not read.
