- Isabel "Belly" Conklin: Belly is the main charcter in the three books. In the last book she is forced between the only two boys she has ever loved. She knows if she isn't careful she will lose them both forever
- Conrad Fisher: Belly's first love. Jeremiah's brother. He is studdying in California, and has been away from the 'summer family' for too long. He and laurel have a close bond, and this is needed in Belly's life.
- Jeremiah Fisher: Conrad's brother and Belly's current love. The funny kid that Belly was best friends with. She never saw his potential until later in life.
- Taylor: Belly's best friend since they were young.The bubbly, outgoing one of the two. She and Belly have been through a lot, but always have stuck together.
- Anika: Belly's other best friend that she meets in college her freshman year.
- Laurel Conklin: Belly's mom, and Susannah's (Beck) best friend. She is very commanding and has a close bond with Conrad Fisher.
- Mr. Fisher: Conrad and Jeremiah's father. He is a bussinessman and earns lots of money.
- Steven: Belly's older brother, he looks out for her a lot.
