Characters/People edit see section history

  • Main Character - I don't think his name is ever mentioned in the book: A city boy whose parents drink is passed from relative to relative, settling for a summer at a family farm.
  • Harris: The second cousin to the aforementioned "city boy", he curses and is a generally earnest and pugnacious child.
  • Knute: The father of Harris, Knute plays with his son by twirling him around the river--silently, of course, as he does everything else. He is also a farmer.
  • Glennis: The city boy's second cousin and Harris' older sister, Glennis is belligerent and will gladly whallop her brother, just for fun or to punish his cursing.
  • Clair: Kunte's wife, Clair is a mite impatient with Harris but a loving and busy mother,
  • Louie: Knute's farm helper, he drinks like he eats: inhaling and without stop.
  • Ernie: Is the rooster in this book. He has a small part but a very funny one!
  • Me(the other boy in the book besides Harris): He has a bad home life so he goes to spend the summer with Harris. He has no idea what is in store for him over the next few weeks.
  • Harris: Harris is a country boy who is wild and adventurous. He has many near death experiences in this book. He does not think very well.
  • Vivian: Add a description of this character.
  • Tarzan: The character in the comic
