“Besides the fact that Ellie is Jewish and Jeremiah is black they fall deeply in love. One another care of each other. Both have gone through harsh paths. They both promise to be with eachother as long as possible. This book is similar to the story of "Romeo and Juliet". Ellie was so happy anymore when she found out that Jeremiah had been killed. A beautiful love story to read!”

But the people around them don’t see it that way. They can only see black and white: Miah is black, Ellie is white, and Jewish; and their love, no matter how real, is too strange and scary for the world they live in.”

It is a hauntly, beautiful love story. What happened to one of the main characters could be foretold from the story, but what came next was a complete surprise. It left me feeling empty and almost inconsolable. ”

Dealt with interesting issues, but the amount of detail was inconsistent, which pretty much undermined the whole thing. Needed to be longer and deeper. Sweet, ethereal language and wanted to be a sweet, ethereal love story but didn't quite manage.”

Very good book. It was really easy and quick to get into, and I got into it right away. Chapters went back and forth between Ellie’s and Miah’s perspectives. I would have liked for the book have been a bit longer, to go into more detail of their relationship, but otherwise, I really enjoyed it.

“This book is about a white girl that is named Ellie and a guy named Jerimiah. Ellie moved to Fort Greene, Brooklyn with her mom. It is her first day of school and it's not going well. She was in the hall and Jerimiah bumped into her and all her books went flying on the ground. Jerimiah picked up her books and she is happy and they start talking. She liked him and she wanted to be with him. When she finally got to talk to him and he got switched classes into her class. he sat by her and did everything with her. they went over to his house and she met his mother. When they were together white people kept looking at them and asking ellie if she was ok and wanted to be with her. She thought it was rude and she couldn't believe that people did that to the colored people. She didn't care what other people thought of them as long as she was happy and he was happy. ”
