Didn’t Like It1 of 1 members found this review helpful“This is the first time I didn't finish reading a book. It was poorly written I didn't want to finish it just to get it over with. I'm gonna rest from this series for a bit and read other more interesting books, with a fresh storyline and creative plot, new characters, and a touch of something...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“Pages and pages of repetitive whining that I could have done without.
Aidan is a successful actor whose family turned on him and he has since become a recluse believing that everyone he knows will betray him at some point.Granted, his brother did try to kill him and summoned the God of Pain to assassinate him but there is only so much whinging that I can take - get over yourself!
Leta has potential as a kick-ass heroine but the speed at which she falls for Aidan the whiner is unbelievable even for a paranormal romance - less than a day!
The villain isn't nearly as smarmy as he could have been and is dispatched quite easily.
On the whole, The Dream Hunter series is pretty lackluster compared to the Dark Hunters and add little to the overall story arc. ”
“Sooo this was definitely not my favorite book of the series. It wasnt terrible but the relationship between Aiden and Leta seemed VERY rushed and I really wasnt into the whole "celebrity" aspect of the story. Everyone gave terrible recommendations of this book and I can kind of understand why now. It wasnt as bad as I had expected but I dont see how their story will be relevant to the rest of the series. I could have easy skipped this book and not have missed out on anything. The other sad thing is that for the first time, a part of me was actually hoping the two main characters WOULDNT get together and that Leta would just die and leave Aiden to move on with his life. It also bothered me how easily Leta was able to kill the god of Pain. I think there should have been some kind if battle or even an explanation for how she killed him. I was just a bit disappointed with this book to be completely honest. Wasnt really worth reading this time. ”

This book is definitely a Dream Hunter book....there is nothing about the Dark Hunters in it which is unfortunate. At least the first Dream Hunter had some references.
Aidan is a famous actor who is fed up with people and living up in a cabin all alone. He is a very angry person with good reason. Leta is a dream goddess who finds out the god of pain, Dolor, has been "awoken" with the desire of Aidan's brother, Donnie, to kill Aidan. Leta's not going to let that happen.
Aidan was a bit hard to take. SK just went on and on and on about how everyone has taken advantage of Aidan and treated him horribly. It was a bit of an overkill. I enjoyed Leta but was a bit surprised that she wasn't more powerful.
I'm glad that I've finally gotten around to reading this story but it's not necessary for the Dark Hunter series.
BUT... there is a bonus story at the end called Holiday Gatherings. It is ALL about the Dark Hunters and what they are up to at Christmas. I really enjoyed it so for that alone this book was worth reading.
