“The beginning was so, so good.
The writing and concept and just the whole execution are, at the beginning, FASCINATING.
But it devolves so quickly into cliche. The romance. The transformation. And don't get me started on the ending. I find it so incredibly frustrating too, because this book has so much promise at the beginning - it's funny and unexpected, but also as quirky and dark as you'd expect. And then it just gets ridiculous. Ugh. ”
