• Lilly Yazhi: Of Hopi Indian origin, she's a woman still reeling from many losses in life
• Clay Tahoma: Virgin River's new veterinary assistant, originally from Flagstaff's Navajo Nation. He's just left Los Angeles following his divorce from his wealthy wife.
• Nathaniel "Nate" Jensen: Large animal veterinarian who has taken over his father's practice. He's engaged to Annie McKenzie.
• Annie McKenzie: Nate's fiancé who owns a hair salon franchise.
• Gabe Tahoma: Clay's son from a teenage romance. He's been living on the Navajo Nation with Clay's parents and the Tahoma family while Clay's been trying to make a living.
• Dane: Lilly's best friend and one of the owners of a coffee shop, Loving Cup.
• Yaz: Lilly's grandfather
• Mrs. Tahoma: Clay's mother

• Luke Riordan: One of the Riordan brothers, he's married to Shelby and father to a newborn son, Brett. He manages six cabins on the Virgin River and lives in a house nearby. He was the first of the Riordans to move to the area.
• Shelby (McIntyre) Riordan: Married to Luke, recently gave birth to a son, Brett. She's the niece of Walt Booth and Vanni's cousin. She's studying nursing at Humboldt University.
• Aiden Riordan: One of the Riordan brothers, he's engaged to Erin Foley, an attorney in Chico, CA. He's a former Navy officer and is an OB-GYN. He delivered Erin's sister Marcie's son.
• Erin Foley: A tax and estate law attorney, she's engaged to Aiden and the sister of Marcie Buchanan.
• Paul Haggerty: Married to Vanni, he is a building contractor and runs the family business' office in Virgin River. Father to Matt and Hannah.
• Hope McCrea: Townswoman who is responsible for attracting more people to Virgin River, such as Mel and Noah.
• Kelly Matlock: A sous chef for a large restaurant in San Francisco, she joins her sister, Jillian, and two other friends for an annual vacation each fall. She's 32-years old.
• Jillian Matlock: A VP of corporate communications for a software giant, she, her sister Kelly and two of her friends take an annual vacation together every fall. She's 31-years old.
• Denny Cutler: Young man, just separated from the Marines, who is looking for his biological father. He's staying with Jack and Mel in the meantime while job searching. He has reason to believe his father lives in the area...he doesn't know who he is or his name.
• Colin Riordan: One of the Riordan brothers
• Tom Booth: Vanni's brother who is attending West Point. He's engaged to Brenda.
• Walt Booth: Retired 3-star general who lives in Virgin River. He's father to Vanni and Tom and Shelby's maternal uncle. He's in a serious relationship with Muriel St. Claire.
• Muriel St. Claire: Film actress who has retired to Virgin River and restored a home there next to Walt Booth's property. She's romantically involved with him.
• Frederik Sorenson: Isabel's wealthy father, who is an abusive, egotistical man.
• Maureen Riordan: Mother of the Riordan brothers, she's romantically involved with George Davenport. They are traveling the country in a modern RV.
• George Davenport: A retired Presbyterian minister and college professor, he's romantically involved with Maureen Riordan and is traveling around the country in a new RV. He's best friend and mentor of Noah Kincaid, the town's minister.
• Hugh Givens: Owns an apple orchard
• Diamond: Isabel's horse
• Brie Valenzuela: Married to Mike and mother to daughter Ness, she is also a former Sacramento assistant DA and currently has a law practice. She's also a legal consultant for Humboldt County and works from her home office.
• Mike Valenzuela: Married to Brie (Jack's sister), he's the town's constable. He's a former Sacramento police detective.
• John "Preacher" Middleton: Married to Paige, he's the cook at Jack's Bar. He added on to the building to expand the rear portion for his family, including son Christopher and daughter Dana.
• Paige Middleton: Preacher's wife and mother of Christopher and Dana.
• Patrick "Paddy" Riordan: Youngest of the Riordan brothers
• Dan Brady: Former marijuana grower, now a foreman for Paul's construction company. He's romantically involved with Cheryl Creighton. He's completely reformed and has many friends in Virgin River.
• Noah Kincaid: Presbyterian minister who bought the town's abandoned church from Hope off of eBay, renovated it and started a ministry. He's married to Ellie and they are renovated their home and raising her two children, Danielle and Trevor.
• Art Cleary: 30-year old man with Down syndrome who stays in one of Luke's cabins and works for him. Luke found him when he was homeless and took him in and cares for him.
• Sean Riordan: One of the Riordan brothers, he's married to Franci and father of Rosie. He's assigned to Montgomery, AL while he attends Air Command and Staff College.
• Darlene: Dane's sister and co-owner of their coffee shop, Loving Cup.
