Luckily, Billy's friends cook up these fat juicy grubs in a variety of appetizing ways--drenched in ketchup and mustard, fried in butter and cornmeal, and the pièce de résistance, a Whizband Worm Delight (an ice-cream worm cake). ”

I rekindled my interest this past year reading it with a few of my reading books. Despite the 2.6 RL listed on the book, this is more of a fourth/fifth grade reading level. I think Fountas has it as a sixth grade book.
Wonderful story about a dare and what a boy will do. From what I understand, the movie changed the bet significantly.
Lots of dialogue.”
