“Funny, this is the Roth book that I didn't want to put down. Essentially I would argue that it's a non-alternate history...if you look closely at the state of our political system.”
“I did like this book; as alternative history goes, it wasn't bad. It has much more of a dimension than standard fare in terms of genocide of a culture rather than that of a people. While it's well written, it isn't as compelling as Fatherland by Robert Harris or The Man in the High Tower by Philip K. Dick. Those are really the gold standard in terms of alternative history and raise it to a high art form.BTW, did anyone catch the it when it came out shortly after this book was published that Charles Lindberg actually did have a secret child in Germany?”
